The Launching Pad Group
A new in-person process group for young adults, ages 25 to 38, now forming. The group is co-ed and meets every other Tuesday evening at my Oak Park office.
What the group works on
The group offers feedback, support and caring accountability to help members navigate the challenges of young adulthood, including developing independence and responsibility, setting career goals and direction, building healthy relationships and emotional growth.
Why a group
Group therapy works well alongside individual therapy. The collective consciousness of a group can move and touch members in ways that are different from individual work, and I have seen people make significant progress in a group setting. I’ve facilitated an ongoing adult process group for the past 7 years.
Who it is a good fit for
This group is a good fit for young adults who have a capacity for emotional regulation and the ability (ego strength) to use and process feedback from the group to grow and change. I recommend that members also be in individual therapy on a regular basis, with me or with their own therapist.
When, where and fees
- Every other Tuesday, 7:00 to 8:30 pm
- In person at 715 Lake Street, Suite 275, Oak Park, IL 60301
- $45 per 90-minute group. BCBS and many other insurance plans are accepted for group.
The group begins once six members have joined. Please call or email to reserve a spot.
For therapists referring a client: Your client keeps working with you. The group runs alongside individual therapy, and I’m glad to talk through whether it’s a good fit before you refer.
Joining or referring
Before joining, each prospective member meets with me individually for a pre-group screening and orientation. To ask about joining, or to discuss a possible referral, call me at (630) 418-9484 or email kaburnstein@gmail.com.
